🅴 Tram Chim National Park in Dong Thap Muoi

Tram Chim is A wild land that is still exist in this region. The approximately 7,300 ha Tram Chim National Park is the national nature conserve zone. This place offers a diversified range of animals and plants, it is a flooded land. 

Apart from Tram trees, there's several kind of animals and plants. Such as, Eleocharis, Ghost Rice, Eleocharis dulcis, Ischaemum rugosum... Ghost rice, Eleocharis dulcis, water caltrop is very unsual to see in Tram Chim national Park. Perhap this is "Tràm Forest" that people started to call it as "Tràm Chim".

"Tràm Chim" or "Tram Chim" meaning ?

It refers to a low and waterlogged land area. That's the reason it becomes an ideal habitat of several species of birds. And people called it "Trầm Chim". And later, people here wrongly pronounced the name and they began to skip diacritic. I think you already knew Vietnamese living in the western part usually pronounce wrong.

Tram Chim National Park has a long history. It's officially established as a Tram Chim National Park in 1998. But untill 2012, this park was recognized as a Ramsar site under Ramsar Convention. There're about 231 species of water birds that are being preserved. 231 species of water bird? Occupy 1/4 of the number of birds in Vietnam. There're about 100 species of Reptiles and Amphibians. 130 species of freshwater fishes. About 130 species of plants.

From each species, the park is divided into 6 types of ecosystem. The main ecosystem is Melaleuca cajuputi. Eleocharis sp.; Panicum repens; Ischaemum spp.; Oryza rufipogon; Lotus And Water Lily.

The core area is populated with more incredible fauna, flora. Because more species of fish will gather in the deeper water. There're 130 species of fish : Snakehead, Channa lucius, Channa Lucious is one kind of snakehead.

There are 231 species of aquatic birds preserved in Tram Chim national park. Most of the aquatic birds around the courtry will gather here. Because in the fry season, the main food source. Of red head crane is atropurpurea.

Tram Chim National Park is a home for every species of animals. Only when they're in this area, they're protected from being harmed. You can see there are lots of birds here. Which means this place is pretty peaceful.
